A novel Ti3SiC2 dispersion-strengthened (DS) copper material was developed. The Ti3SiC2 dispersion-strengthened (DS) copper was prepared by powder metallurgy (PM) and the mechanical properties of Ti3SiC2 DS coppers were investigated. The results demonstrated that the Ti3SiC2 strengthening effect of coppers is significant. The tensile yield strength and microhardness of 5 vol.% Ti3SiC2 DS copper were 291 MPa and Hv122, respectively, which were almost twice than those of pure copper. The good conductivity and high modulus of Ti3SiC2 as well as the significant strengthening effect indicate that Ti3SiC2 is a promising reinforcement for copper.
