Superplastic behavior of polycrystalline stoichiometric NiAl

AbstractTensile behavior of polycrystalline stoichiometric NiAl was investigated as a function of temperature and strain rates. Superplastic behavior with a maximum elongation of 210% extruded NiAl was observed over a stain rate range from 1.67 x 10(-4) to 1.67 x 10(-2) s(-1) at 1100 degreesC and the strain rate sensitivity exponent is beyond 0.3. The mechanism of superplasticity was also suggested.
