摘要	Squeeze casting of an LY12 (2024) alloy was carried out to investigate the effect of applied pressure and followed diffusion annealing on microsegregation in the alloy. The experimental results indicate that there exists a regular distribution of microsegregation in the cast and a proper squeeze casting followed by a proper diffusion annealing process can markedly reduce the degree of microsegregation and improve the mechanical properties that can be close to the level of forged LY12 alloy.
