摘要	The process of chemical synthesis of a new kind of solid lubricant and oil additive-nickel oxythiornolybdate and one of its precursor material ammonium oxythiomolybdate were studied. Their composition, structure and morphology were investigated by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, electron microprobe and SEM. The results obtained show that their optimum parameters for synthesizing are: pH=4 similar to5, T=30 degreesC, and pH=7 similar to9, T=-5 similar to0 degreesC. NiMoO2S2 as a solid lubricant and an oil additive from 20 degreesC to 600 degreesC has good tribological behaviors, and can be regarded as a new kind of lubricant applied in a wide temperature range.
