Precipitation behavior of the secondary carbides in K40S alloy during high-temperature aging

摘要The secondary carbide precipitation behavior of K40S alloy after aging at 950 degreesC for 100 h was investigated. The results show that a direct reaction among elements is the predominant. formation mechanism of the secondary carbides M23C6, and M6C. The primary carbide M7C3 acts as the carbon source, and its degeneration promotes the direct element reaction. The secondary M6C precipitation is closely related to the segregation of W in as-cast alloy and the If atoms needed by this reaction come from the W segregation zone.
