A solution treated Fe-Ni based austenitic high strength alloy was aged under positive and reverse two-step aging condition. The effects of reverse-two step aging on the resistance of the alloy to hydrogen embrittlement have been studied. The results indicate that reverse-aging can improve the resistance of the alloy to hydrogen embrittlement. TEM examination showed that it is mainly caused by the size diminution of gamma' phase and eta phase precipitated on grain boundaries.
