摘要 | The effects of quenched-in crystallites on the cyclic fatigue fracture of Zr-Al-Ni-Cu bulk amorphous alloy were investigated. For the fully amorphous alloy and specimen with fine crystallites the fatigue crack initiation occurred on the surface layer. For the specimen with larger crystallites the crack originated from a big broken crystallite near the surface layer. The typical striation for amorphous alloys appeared on the fracture surface of the fatigue crack propagation, but on the fracture surface of fine crystallites no striation was detected during crack propagation. The average striation spacing on amorphous area is much larger than that on the larger crystallite. Crack initiation occurred at the brittle crystallites broken easily under cyclic deformation condition. |
