摘要 | After pretreating of reinforcing ceramic particles the Al matrix composites have been prepared in non-vacuum induction furnace by the methods of prefabricate, non-vortex and semi-solid mechanical stirring. The results indicated that the three liquid methods could overcome the difficulty of wettability between ceramic particles and aluminum-alloy or pure aluminum. But the volume fraction of particles in composite fabricated by prefabricate method was finite. The temperature of composite fabricated by non-vortex mechanical stirring method was higher than other methods. The two methods weren't fit for manufacturing composites with high volume fraction of particles. SiC particles with average size of 3.5 mum and volume fraction of 40% could be stirred into pure aluminum by semi-solid mechanical stirring method. But as the volume fraction of particles was more than 30%, the particles couldn't distribute uniformly in pure aluminum matrix. |
