摘要 | The Zr55Al10Ni5Cu30 bulk metallic glass reinforced with 27% SiC (volume fraction) particles was successfully synthesized by copper mold casting method. Structure, microstructure, and thermal properties of the composites were investigated by X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. The results show that not only the matrix remains amorphous but also the glass forming ability and thermal stability is also enhanced. The reaction at interface between the matrix and the reinforcement was investigated with transmission electron microscopy and electron microprobe. A 10 nm reacted layer is formed between the matrix and SiC particle. Both Si and some of C atoms diffused into matrix during processing, resulting in the improvement of the glass forming ability and thermal stability. |
