Corrosion behavior of Zr55Al10CU30Ni5 amorphous alloy in NaOH solution

摘要The corrosion behavior of Zr55Al10Cu30Ni5 amorphous alloy in NaOH solution was studied by potential dynamic method, electrochemical impedance spectrum (EIS) and scanning electronic microscopy. The potentialdynamic experiments showed that this alloy had sufficient corrosion resistance in NaOH solution. The cathod reaction was controlled by the electrochemical reaction, while the anodic process showed passivation character. And the passivation current density were very low within the-studied concentration about 1 muA /cm(2) - 2 muA/ cm(2). The EIS experiments showed that the charge transfer resistance increased with the increasing of the concentration of NaOH, and reached a maximum value when the concentration of NaOH was 2 mol/L. The Nyquist plots consisted of single capacitance arcs under the cathodic, open circuit and passivation potentials conditions. SEM and EDAX experiments showed that the amorphous alloy was slightly corrosive in 1 mol/L NaOH solution after 21 days immersion, and the alloying elements dissolute to different extent with a small content of oxygen on the alloy surface.
