AbstractAn inverse method is developed to extract the composition-dependent interdiffusivity from the content profiles in aluminide coating, based on the finite difference method. Calculated results indicate that interdiffusivity in aluminide coating depends on its Al content perhaps because the outer layer of aluminide coating consists of off-stoichiometric NiAl phase.
