摘要 | The dissolution and precipitation behaviors of silicides of Ti-38644 titanium alloy and their influence on the microstructure and tensile properties were investigated. Microstructure characteristics and tensile fracture mode were observed by OM, SEM and TEM. The results show that trace impurity Si promotes the formation of (TiZr)(6)Si-3 silicides. Silicide gradually dissolves when the alloy is solution treated at 700 similar to 950 degrees C. No silicides are observed after the alloy is solution treated at 950 degrees C. The strength of the alloy decreases with the increasing of solution temperature in the range of 800 similar to 950 degrees C due to the dissolution of silicides and the growth of beta grains. When the alloy is solution treated at 1100 degrees C and aged at 700 similar to 900 degrees C for 1 h, silicides precipitate at grain boundaries. No grain boundary silicides are observed after the alloy is aged at 700 degrees Cand 950 degrees C. Grain boundary silicides have little influence on the strength, but the plasticity of alloys increases with the decreasing of the quantity of grain boundary silicides. The fracture mode transforms from brittle fracture to ductile fracture. |
