AbstractCompositional and microstructural effects have been studied in the (Tl1-xBix)(Sr1-zBaz)(2)Ca2Cu3Oy system. Tapes were fabricated by an insitu process using powders of composition (Tl0.78Bi0.22)(Sr0.8Ba0.2)(2)Ca2Cu3Oy and (Tl0.5Pb0.5)(Sr0.8Ba0.2)(2)Ca2Cu3Oy. The increase in J(c) and T-c with time was found to be similar for both systems.
