AbstractHigh-resolution transmission electron microscopy is used to observe a Sigma = 7 ((<12(3)over bar 0>)/[0001] 21.8 degrees) grain boundary in alpha-Ti. Relaxed structural models and image simulation are used to investigate the structure. The modelling structure which shows the best fit for the experimental image is one where the dislocation cores are separated by the nearly perfect regions at the boundary.
