A continuous uniform layer of amorphous TiO2 obtained by the hydrolysis of TBOT could be deposited on the surface of monodispersed pseudo-spherical α-Fe2O3. The thickness of the TiO2 shell was about 30 nm. After heat treatment at 500℃, the structure of TiO2 shell transformed to the anatase. The UV-Vis spectrum of core-shell particles showed that the electron, induced by UV-Vi sray, transferred from the valence band of TiO2 to the conduction band of α-Fe2O3. As a result, the absorb peak of core-shell particles shifted toward long wave, and the maximum absorbance appeared in the range of visible ray area.
