TiC/NiCrMoAITi cermets were vacuum sintered by powder metallurgy technology. The effects of Mo additions on microstructures and mechanical properties of TiC/NiCrAl Ti cermets were investigated. Results show that the formation of surrounding phase around TiC particles refined the hard phase particles and blunted the sharp angles of TiC particles; With increasing Mo additions, both the amount and size of surrounding phase increased, thus the hardness increased linearly however the bonding strength increased to the maximum values at 4% Mo content and then decreased due to the brittle thick surrounding phase.
