Analysis of the active slip mode during compression of the near-alpha titanium alloy in the alpha plus beta phase-field: Insights from the results of electron backscattered diffraction

摘要The active slip modes for the near-alpha titanium alloy with lamellar microstructure were studied after compression in the alpha + beta phase-field via in-grain misorientation axis analysis. The test results revealed that the activity of the pyramidal < a + c > and basal < a > slip systems become easier at 980 degrees C than at 900 degrees C. However, the prismatic < a > slip was always the most easily activated slip system at both temperatures. Meanwhile, the prismatic < a > slip was more easily actuated due to the rotation of the lamellae and crystal lattice, which can be contributed to increases in the Schmid's factor as the strain of compression increased.
