摘要 | In this work, the cavitation erosion (CE) behavior of the rolling surface (RS) and the longitudinal section parallel to rolling direction (LSPTRD) for 304 stainless steel in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution was comparatively investigated by mass loss analysis, morphology observation, nanoindentation characterization, and electrochemical tests. Results indicated that the RS exhibited better CE resistance compared with the LSPTRD as a result of its higher hardness and elasticity thereby inhibiting the surface damage process. Meanwhile, the corrosion resistance of these two different rolling surfaces was compared, and the RS displayed a lower corrosion current density and a better repassivation performance under both CE and quiescence states. In addition, the morphology evolution and the protection capability of the passive films on different rolling surfaces were discussed. |
