The authors observed the quasi-crystalline specimens which have the icosahedral phase with m3-bar5-bar point group along with the 10-fold symmetry phase with 10/mmm point group in a rapidly cooled Al-20-at.% Mn alloy in their experiments. The results obtained by electron diffraction of the samples collaborated those obtained by field ion microscope. Several quasi-crystal structure models were tested by the techniques of field ion image simulation.
