The new type composite aluminide coating with rare earth oxide dispersion is studied further on the optimum of preparation technology, microstructure of the coating, oxidation and mechanical behaviour at high temperature. In the meantime, some mechanisms on the active element effect involving improvement of protective property of Al_2O_3 scale are investigated deeply. The process of migration of the additive oxide and accumulation at the coating/substrate interface, and its effect on coating degradation is analysized experimentally and theoretically.
