Corrosion of Ti75 alloy in a 3.5 wt% NaCl solution containing different concentrations of Cu2+

摘要The corrosion of Ti75 alloy was investigated in a neutral 3.5 wt% NaCl solution with five concentrations of Cu2+. Results demonstrated that the corrosion is the least in the control solution without Cu2+. However, a further increase in the Cu2+ concentration led to a decrease in corrosion due to the changes in passive film properties including its compositions and the carrier density. Moreover, both the corrosion potential and the diffusionlimited current density increase with the increasing Cu2+ concentration. Additionally, the effects of Cu2+ on both anodic and cathodic processes, as well as its role in the passive film's development, were analyzed.
