摘要 | As one of the most important matrix elements in superalloys, Fe has attracted great attention due to its low cost and significant impact on mechanical performance. Herein, the effects of Fe on microstructures and creep properties (650 degrees C/120 MPa) of Ni-based model alloys were investigated. Compared with Ni-17Cr-1.7Al (wt.%, called 0Fe alloy) alloy, the addition of Fe decreases the lattice misfit between gamma and gamma ' and promotes the precipitation of nano-sized gamma ' phase, thereby inhibiting dislocations slip and improving creep properties. Surprisingly, a few nano-scale incommensurate modulated domains are detected only in Ni-17Cr-15Fe-1.5Al (wt.%, called 15Fe alloy) alloy. The precipitation of gamma ' phase and the segregated Fe atoms suggest that the incommensurate modulated structures are induced by alternated process of dislocation slip and climb during creep. The present work provides crucial insights into the mechanism of Fe influencing microstructures and creep properties of the designed alloys. |
