摘要 | Herein, novel chemical sensors based on methylene blue (MB) organic semiconductor materials were fabricated. The optical properties of the MB-based sensors were investigated using UV-vis spectroscopy, and the band gap of MB was also found to be approximately 3.244 eV. Furthermore, copper electrodes were fabricated and then deposited on a plastic substrate. The gas sensing properties of the MB-based thin film device were investigated at 100 Hz, 200 Hz, 300 Hz, 500 kHz and 1 kHz frequencies using three different gases, i.e. ammonia, methanol, and ethanol, while for temperature sensitivity, the frequencies were 100 Hz, 120 Hz, 1 kHz, 10 kHz and 100 kHz. The capacitance increased with increasing concentration of gases, while the resistance decreased with increasing concentration. An increase in the capacitance and a decrease in the resistance were also observed during the temperature sensing process. The as-prepared MB-based sensors showed an ultrahigh sensitivity compared to traditional gas and temperature sensors. Therefore, this study opens the door for new MB-based sensors to be used for the construction of highly stable and rapid multifunctional sensors for multiple applications. |
