Oxidation and hot corrosion behaviors of NiAlTa protective material for turbine single crystal blade tips

摘要NiAlTa alloys were prepared to improve oxidation and hot corrosion resistance of single crystal blade tips as well as the sealing performance of an engine. The oxidation and hot corrosion behaviors of NiAlTa alloys were investigated. The results showed that NiAlTa alloys exhibited low oxidative degradation rates at 1000-1100 degrees C. tau 1-NiTaAl and beta-NiAl phases exhibited different oxidation behaviors. NiAlTa alloys were more resistant to attack by mixed salts than pure salts. NiTaAl phase accelerated the alloy failure by acting as a fast diffusion channel for corrosive media. The oxidation mechanisms, hot corrosion mechanisms, and the effects of Ta were discussed.
