Influence of sea sand and Shewanella algae on the corrosion behavior of 316 stainless steel in marine environment

摘要The influencing factors of Under deposit - Microbiologically influenced corrosion (UD-MIC) are remarkable complexity, and the mechanism of the interaction between sea sand of different grain sizes and microorganisms on the corrosion behavior is still unclear. This study systematically investigated the effects of monolayer sea sand with varying particle sizes and Shewanella algae ( S. algae ) on the corrosion behavior of 316 stainless steel (SS) using electrochemical, surface morphology and compositional analysis techniques, and established the mechanism of the interaction between monolayer sea sand and S. algae on the UD-MIC behavior of 316 SS.
