摘要The Small Punch Test (SPT) is a novel technique used to assess the structural integrity of metallic materials. Currently, research relies on two popular approaches: the empirical correlations by experiments and inverse approach by finite element method. However, the former lacks universality due to varying material characteristics, while the latter is limited by time-consuming computations. To address these limitations, a new SPT method has been developed based on the representative stress-strain method. By combining dimensional analysis, finite element analysis, and a dimensionless parameter database, this method provides explicit analytical expressions for calculating tensile properties. This present SPT approach is semi-empirical and semianalytical, which eliminates errors and inconsistencies inherent in traditional empirical correlation methods and offers a more efficient and accurate way to predict tensile properties of steels. The method's effectiveness was verified through experiments on over twenty types of steels, yielding an error of approximately 5% compared to standard tensile test values.
