Rapidly modifying microstructure via electro pulsing treatment for AA2219 laser welded joints: Synergistic enhancement of strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance

摘要AA2219 is renowned for its high specific strength and corrosion resistance, but its welded components face performance challenges. Traditional heat treatment methods struggle to balance strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance. This study combines oscillating laser with electro pulsing treatment (EPT) to enhance the joint's strength and ductility exceed those of the base material (BM), while minimizing corrosion phenomena. This is attributed to increased atomic migration under the electric field, which promotes grain recrystallization and refinement. EPT repairs defects and relieves residual stress through Joule heating, while drifting electrons and theta'-Al2Cu precipitates control dislocation movement. Additionally, EPT significantly reduces element segregation.
