The anodic dissolution of pure aluminum in an alkaline methanol solution was investigated by electrochemical impedance spectra(EIS).The EIS models were proposed based on the circuit model and the electrochemical kinetics, respectively. Then the Faradic admittances were expressed by the equivalent circuit elements and the partial differentials of state variables for the electrode reactions, respectively. The values of state variables and kinetic parameters of the elemental reaction steps were solved from the obtained EIS data.Based on the above experimental results, the electrochemical kinetic mechanism of the anodic dissolution of aluminum was discussed.
