摘要 | The deformation and damage behavior of tungsten fiber reinforced Zr(41.25)Ti(13.75)Ni(10)Cu(12.5)Be(22.5) (at.%) metallic glass composites are investigated under uniaxial compression. It is found that shear bands can form by two different modes in the metallic glass matrix. In-plane and out-of-plane shear band sliding was found in the matrix. The formation mechanisms of these two types of shear bands are explained through different degrees of lateral confinement by the fibers. (c) 2007 Published by Elsevier B.V. |
