AbstractCu2O nanowires were successfully synthesized by an electrochemical method using an alumina membrane as template through precise control of the pH value of the electrolyte. The deposition process was monitored by the time-current curve. Characterization was performed by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The growth directions of the Cu2O nanowires were determined and the possible growth mechanism is discussed.
