摘要 | Potentiodynamic and potentiostatic polarization experiments showed that a novel Ni-10.9Cr (wt %) electrodeposited nanocomposite (ENC) produced by co- deposition of Ni with nano-sized Cr particles from a nickel sodium bath exhibited a superior pitting resistance in 3.5 wt % NaCl, in comparison to a Ni-12.4Cr (wt %) electrodeposited composite (EC) produced by co- deposition of micro-sized Cr particles and a Ni-10Cr (wt %) alloy (solid solution) prepared by electro arc melting. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy characterization indicated that the ENC formed a passive film which was richer in Cr and denser than that on the alloy, whereas a Cr-free passive film was formed on the EC.
