Physical properties, electrochemical performance and stability of several kinds of Fe(VI) compounds

摘要In order to understand the physical properties and electrochemical performance of several kinds of Fe(VI) compounds, K2FeO4, BaFeO4, SrFeO4 and K2Sr( FeO4)(2) were synthesized by a chemical method. The appearance, structure, solubility and discharge performance of the four kinds of ferrates were investigated. Studies show that BaFeO4 has better discharge performance. However, it has been found out that other ferrates except for K2FeO4 are unstable. They decompose in dry environment. The quantum ab initio calculation was used to compare the polarization effects of positive ions on FeO42-. Results show that the Fe(VI) compounds become less stable with the increase of the polarization effects.
