摘要Tensile and symmetrical push-pull fatigue tests were conducted on commercially pure titanium containing gamma hydrides. The plastic deformation of gamma hydrides was observed in both tensile and cyclic tests. Voids were found to nucleate at hydrides in heavily deformed tensile specimens. The macroscopic mechanical behaviors correlated with the evolution of microstructure were investigated. It was found that the specimens and the embedded hydrides were fractured in a typical ductile manner. And the effect of gamma hydrides on cyclic and tensile properties of titanium containing such a low hydrogen concentration (77 ppm) is negligible. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
