摘要 | In this work, the mechanism of atmospheric corrosion; mainly pitting corrosion, of LY12 aluminum alloy under different thin electrolyte films was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and scanning electron microscopy. The maximum phase shift theta on the Bode plot gained in EIS tests exceeds -45degrees indicating that the tests acquired an even current distribution. Under thin electrolyte films, the corrosion. rates increase with a decrease in the electrolyte film thickness. The results also show that the mechanism of corrosion under thin electrolyte layer is different from that in the bulk solution. The rate-determining step changes from the anodic process to oxygen diffusion in the bulk electrolyte film. |
