Influence of size of NiO on the electrochemical properties for SOFC anodes

摘要Nanometric NiO with a high specific surface area was synthesized by sol-gel method. NiO-YSZ anode materials were prepared by solid state reaction and their impedance spctra were measured. The analysis results show that NiO-YSZ anode materials with nanometric oxide NiO have a smaller polarization resistance R-p, higher conductivity than those with original powder NiO. The single cell with the anode of nanometric NiO-YSZ in 55% mass fraction has a higher power density and higher current density than that of the cell with the anode of original power NiO-YSZ in the same mass fraction. These demonstrate that the optimization of the anode can be obtained by increasing the three-phase boundary(TPB) line among Nickel, YSZ and Hydrogen, which can be achieved by decreasing the size of the NiO.
