Studies of the EPR parameters and the local anion distortion parameter u for Co2+-doped LiGa5O8 inverse spinel

摘要The local anion distortion parameter it for Co2+-doped inverse spinel LiGa5O8 is studied by fitting the calculated EPR g factors g(parallel to) and g(perpendicular to) to the observed values for Co2+ ion in trigonal octahedral Li+ site of LiGa5O8. The result (mu approximate to 0.383+/-0.002) is comparable with those reported in similar pure inverse spinels LiAl5O8 and LiFe5O8. So, we suggest that the anion distortion parameter it in pure LiGa5O8 may be close to the above local parameter obtained from trigonal Co2+ cluster in this crystal.
