Influence of columnar microstructure of a sputtered NiAl coating on its oxidation behavior at 1000 degrees C

摘要The influence of columnar microstructure of a sputtered nanocrystalline NiAl coating on its oxidation behavior at 1000 degreesC in air was investigated. Results showed that the existence of columnar boundaries significantly affected its initial oxidation kinetics. However, no such obvious effect on the scale thickness was observed after long term oxidation. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
