The effects of temperature and strain rate on hot plastic-flow of four gamma-TiAl based alloys

摘要The characteristics of hot plastic-flow of Ti-47AI-2Cr, Ti-46.5Al4Cr, Ti-46.5Al-5Nb and Ti-46.5Al-2Cr-5Nb (at.%) were investigated in the wrought condition through a series of tension tests conducted over a practical range of forging strain rates and temperatures. Engineering stress - strain curves for the four alloys exhibited peak stress values at very low strain levels; a second or even a third peak appeared at the low temperature and high strain rate regime for the first three alloys. The high temperature ductilities of the four alloys were compared and their relevance to hot workability was discussed.
