By means of X-ray powder diffraction (powder XRD), differential thermal analysis (DTA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray electron dispersed spectrum microanalysis (EDS), the isothermal section at 500 degreesC in Ho-Ni-Ti ternary system is determined. Intermetallic phases in this section and the relationships among them are studied. In addition, the characteristics of some of these compounds are analyzed. This section consists of 13 single-phase regions, 23 two-phase regions and 11 three-phase regions. The existence of 10 binary compounds is confirmed. No ternary compound is found.
