The tetragonal distortions of chlorine octahedra in the tetragonal phase of RbCdCl3 perovskite are studied by analyzing the EPR spectra of this crystal doped with Mn2+, Gd3+ and Co2+ impurities. The results suggest that the chlorine octahedra are stretched along < 001 > axis by the order of 10(-3) Angstrom. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
