The ternary system Tm2O3-SrO-CuO: compounds and phase relations

AbstractThe subsolidus phase relations of the Tm2O3-SrO-CuO ternary system have been investigated by X-ray powder diffraction. All samples were synthesized in air at 950 degrees C. There is no ternary compound in the Tm2O3-SrO-CuO system at 950 degrees C. The system can be divided into six three-phase regions. A new binary compound SrTm2O4 is identified. This compound crystallizes in an orthorhombic unit cell with space group Pnma and lattice constants of a=10.0082 Angstrom, b=3.3771 K and c=11.8173 Angstrom. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A.
