AbstractA physical model based on the structure feature of high porosity materials has been established for the theoretical calculation of the electrical resistivity through porosity for high porosity materials, and from this model the mathematical formulae reflecting the variation rules of the electrical resistivity with porosity for porous metals are derived. In addition, it is proved that the formula evaluations coincide with practical results by the corresponding experiment on a nickel foam. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science S.A.
