Through chemical oxidation method, pyrrole was polymerized in situ by FeCl3 in PM-MA matrix dissolved in ethyl acetate, The resulting polypyrrole was dissolved in PMMA solution. A soft free-stand composite film was produced by the evaporation of solvent ethyl acetate. Its conductivity(Py 40% in mass fraction) was about 3 S/cm measured by standard four-probe method. It had a good stability in air. The factors affecting the polymerization such as temperature, time and matrix were investigated.
