AbstractSamples of Eu1-xCaxFeO3-y (x = 0.0, 0.2-1.0) were prepared by the solid state reaction method. X-ray diffraction measurements showed that compounds for x < 0.6 have perovskite structure. Three magnetic and one doublet species were observed at room temperature in the Mossbauer spectra. The Fe ions are all in a trivalent state. The changes of isomer shift, quadrupole splitting and intensity with composition are discussed.
