STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF P ON THE EDC OF SOME ELEMENTS IN FE-BASED TERNARY-SYSTEMS BY THERMODYNAMIC EVALUATION

摘要Thermodynamic evaluation of the equilibrium distribution coefficients (EDCs) of metal elements (M = Nb, Ti, Cr, Al, Si, etc.) in Fe-M-P ternary alloys with different content of P, has been carried out. The results revealed that by lowering the P content in the system, the EDCs of Nb, Ti and Cr increased, and the elements of Al and Si showed the opposite trend, while the EDCs of Ni and Co remained almost constant. Satisfactory agreement has also been obtained between the experimental results of the EDC of Ti, in Fe-4 at% Ti-P systems, and the evaluated values. From these results, it can be expected that lowering of P content is an effective way to lessen the solidification micro-segregation.
