Simple analytic embedded-atom potentials for bcc metals are presented. The new EAM model includes the first two neighbors without any cutoff procedures. The model parameters for the six bcc metals V, Nb, Ta, Mo, W and Fe have been obtained. The model has been used to calculate the dilute-solution heat and formation heat of the binary alloys for the six bcc metals, but the model still cannot be applied to the metal Cr.
