Abstract | Laser Heated Pedestal Growth technique was used to grow BSCCO and YBCO superconducting wires. Many kinds of modulation structures with different wavelengths and orientations were found in BSCCO samples. Main phase in the samples was identified as 2212 phase and amorphous grain boundaries and missing of CaCuO2 layer as well as intergrowth of (010) and (110BAR) planes have been observed. For YBCO specimen treated with MTG (Melting Textured Growth) method which has critical current density Jc higher than 1.25*10(4) A/cm (77K, OT), a great deal of stacking faults and dislocation tangles were observed by diffraction contrast imaging and also by HREM. The structure defects may be considered as flux pinning centers which are beneficial to the increasing of the Jc value. |
