Z-Average Radius of Gyration of Polymers in the Ternary Self-Condensing Vinyl Polymerization System with Unequal Reactivity

AbstractThe Z-average radius of gyration of hyperbranched polymers formed in the ternary self-condensing vinyl polymerization system was studied by the method of Monte Carlo simulation, in which the unequal reactivity was taken into account. As a result, the effects of the reactivity difference in two types of active centers, the molar ratio of inimers to monomers, the molar ratio and functionality of core initiators were discussed. It is found that these factors can give rise to a significant influence on the Z-average radii of gyration of hyperbranched polymers with and without the core initiator. This provides some useful clues for regulating the dimension and structure of the hyperbranched polymers in the relevant experiments.
