Ceramic shell mould based on stabilized ZrO2 for titanium alloy investment casting

摘要The ceramic shell mould made of slurries of transition metal oxide sol and stabilized ZrO2 filler for the investment casting of titanium alloys was systematically investigated. Two kinds of filler, made of fine powder only and size-matching powder, were used in this study. The properties of the resultant slurries were characterized by measurements of viscosity, density and plate retention rate. Parameters influencing the surface quality of the ceramic shell mould were optimized.
