Corrosion of Fe-15Ce alloy in H-2-CO2, H-2-H2S and H-2-H2S-CO2 atmospheres

摘要The corrosion behavior of the alloy Fe-15Ce has been studied at 600 degreesC in atmospheres of H-2-CO2, H-2-H2S and H-2-H2S-CO(2)Under H-2-CO2 inner oxidation occurred, while under H-2-H2S and H-2-H2S-CO2 atmospheres complex scales were formed. No exclusive Ce oxide or sulfide scales could be found in any case; this is because of the limited solubility of Ce in the base metal and the presence of intermetallic compounds in the alloy. The corrosion rate of the alloy at 600 degreesC in H-2-H2S-CO2 is lower than in H-2-H2S.
